Hudson Valley inspiration trip

For a great weekend retreat, Hudson Valley is just a short train ride from New York along the Hudson River.

Warren street has many beautifully curated antique shops. The windows alone give us tons of inspiration and home decorating envy. One day pricey Hudson shops, one day!

A favorite to stop in at, is the John Davis Gallery . Housed in one of the oldest mill buildings in the town, the space itself is beyond beautiful and the artists it shows are always a treat. We have managed to hit up a few of their opening nights over the years, go on a Friday or Saturday night and you are guaranteed to meet interesting folk over wine and good art.  Oh, and they have the cutest chocolate spaniel too!

Below are a few examples of work we have seen at the gallery in the past few years. Unfortunately I don't have the name of the Artist who made the woven piece below.

Suzanne Ulrich
Leticia Ortega-Cortes
There are so many interesting textures, paint color choices (mango and green pea anyone?) and building designs around town. It all works together somehow.

And cats. Loads of kitties...
 ...all over the place.

It's hard to leave.
But check out the evening ride home by train.
We hope you get to visit some time!
