Marbling!

ink on the water
this week i was lucky enough to do some marbling onto fabric with a pro at this technique, ilana kohnat the textile arts center in brooklyn.

fellow marblers were these lovely ladies, kay and jennifer

beautiful organic patterns forming...
my finished fabric

there is a lot of prep work involved in this craft, so be prepared to roll up your sleeves, but it's totally worth the effort!

    1. It was funny, I was trying to hold back and do some cleaner more muted, 'sophisticated' palettes but I kept throwing that pink in at the last minute!

  2. tee hee - i spy my naked feets in the above photos! i had such a blast, and ilana really wasn't kidding when she said she threw up in the marbling deep end. or was it ironing deep end...

it was also really great to meet you! i hope we can get together again soon, maybe with some corndog involvement, too. :)

    1. Likewise kay! And what?! Really, oh no!! It was quite exerting work, but worth it for sure.

Yes! I would love to do a walk or dog-run time with you and Mr corn dog!

    2. oh jeez! i just re-read my comment - i meant threw US, not up! haha. though jeez, that could've been on the more "experimental" side of marbling for sure. ;)
